Participation

Wherever possible, local communities are invited to take part in the environmental assessment.

Paid contracts have been offered for several posts, including: community liaison officers, sampling technicians, project support and logistics. All job vacancies were advertised locally.

In addition, the project team will continuously seek community input on a range of issues, such as information on the location of current and past spills, on clean-up work undertaken so far, on the location of wells and on indications of pollution.
